Let the Big Dawg Play Racquetball!

...at the UGA Bulldog Racquetball Club 2007 Open Tournament
a FREE Tournament hosted by the UGA Racquetball Club and Open to the UGA Community

• For all skill levels, all ages, fun and FREE!
• Played at your own schedule against opponents of similar skill levels.
• Open to anyone with access to the Ramsey Center. Not just club members, not just skilled players -- everyone and anyone.
• Women’s and Men’s beginner, intermediate, and advanced divisions.
• Two matches guaranteed. Prizes in all divisions.
• And did we mention it’s FREE?

Sign up at the UGA Club Sports Fair, at Racquetball Club (7-9 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday, Ramsey Courts 1-3), or by email to: jbradsha@uga.edu or bppatel@uga.edu. Applicants should send name, email, phone number and divisions being entered. (And should read the fine print below.)

Register by August 31st to start play September 7th.

The fine print:

  • This tournament follows USRA rules, and referees are available for final matches in each division. This tournament really is open to players of all levels, including beginners -- rules sheets will be provided.
  • For Men: Divisions include Men's Advanced, Men's Intermediate, Men's Beginner. Each participant may register in only one skill division.
  • For Women: Divisions include Women's Advanced, Women's Intermediate, and Women's Beginner. Each participant may register in only one skill division -- but women are invited to register additionally in the equivalent men's division.
  • This is a single-elimination tournament, which is played on your own schedule. Following publishing of the competition brackets for each division, you will have several days to schedule and complete your match. Following the match, the winner will continue in the bracket while the loser will have the option of playing a consolation match or continuing play in a lower bracket, as determined by organizers.
  • Referees are available for the final game of each division.
  • The tournament is completely, absolutely, indubitably FREE. So you have nothing to lose but your competitive match, and prizes to gain!
  • There are prizes -- they will be announced around the start of play.
  • Divisions may be combined if necessary. The tournament lasts until there is a victor in each division, and the duration will be estimated after the registration deadline.
  • Yes, you may join in on any Racquetball Club practice. In fact, we wish you would!
*In other words, anyone who is eligible to hold a Ramsey Center membership.
